Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments

To tell the truth I am a little nervous that I do the right thing by him and hopefully with all of your advice I dont go wrong, this is my first time having anything bigger than a cockatiel or a Princess of Wales which I had years ago so he is big, really big compared with them and of course has different needs too. He arrived this evening, I had a name in mind bit he didnt react to it so I am holding off on the name until I see what sounds he really likes, he said Hello as soon as I brought him inside but has only spoken garble to me since, he knew what he was saying alright,he was telling me how to open the doors of his cage to let him fly round and investigate this new space and visit all these other feathered friends he could see and hear around him. He looked at me several times as much as to say I will have to work hard training you, you are really stupid when you cant understand a simple command like open the cage!

At last this stupid human got the message and he got out to survey his kingdom for a while. I was given the honor of being offered his head to scratch but I haven't taken him onto my hand yet, he is a little nervous yet of all the new sounds so I will give him time to settle and get comfortable with the place and with me, maybe tomorrow he will step up on to my hand, he almost did tonight but then the dogs barked and he returned to the safety of his cage!
I don't know about his age, he is supposed to be around 7 to 8 years old and is wearing a ring although it isnt a closed ring, Natasha looked at the ring, but I think its hard to make out whats on it. He is very in to me talking to him, loves sounds did one wonderful scream for me, wow I enjoyed it!

Thanks Natasha he laughed here too and said hello and loads of garbled chitchat. He has gone to bed for the night, I put him to bed at nine and then had to go do all the jobs that werent done all evening while I was talking to him

Am only just on the computer now for a while and then its my bedtime!
